Patrick Fay

Former COO, Mizuho America

Patrick Fay served as the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Mizuho America where he oversaw all company operations while managing the Fixed Income division, which accounted for one-third of the firm's total revenue. He directed IT, market and credit risk, real estate, and facilities operations, managing a team of 150 professionals and serving on the global IT Steering Committee to enhance technological and operational efficiency.

At Lehman Brothers, Patrick was promoted to lead the firm’s largest profit and loss division, generating $350 million in annual revenue. Later, as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income, Americas, at ABN AMRO Bank, he strengthened the bank’s market position through strategic leadership of regional fixed-income operations. His earlier career included senior roles at Credit Suisse/First Boston as Managing Director and Senior Corporate Bond Trader and at Morgan Stanley/A.G. Becker as Vice President and Head Trader, where he built a strong foundation in corporate bond trading and financial markets.

From 2017 to 2021, Patrick served as Chief Digital and Automation Officer at Mizuho, where he played a pivotal role in elevating the fixed income division’s revenue from $50 million to $1 billion. Patrick Fay earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He brings his expertise in technological innovation and financial acumen to the Real Estate Innovation Council.
